The Pamporovo 2010 FIS Cup round finished.

Pamporovo 2010 FIS Cup on ski track Stenata

A round of European FIS Cup held in Pamporovo resort on 27 and 28 March. The race took place on the black ski track - Stenata (The Wall). Willing to participate to the only one - Slalom discipline were 117 skiers - 28 women and 89 men from 9 countries including Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Romania, Russia, USA, Slovakia. This was the first race after a 4 year break.

The winners of the first day in men competition were Dean Todorov – Bulgaria, 27 year old, Stefan Georgiev - Bulgaria, 32 and Zahari Yanakiev - Bulgaria. In ladies competition first place took Denitsa Valcheva ,18 - Bulgaria; followed by Masa Jankovic - Serbia and Paraskevi Mavridou - Greece. After the second day the top 3 both in men and in ladies staied almost the same, just Stefan Georgiev got ahead of Dean Todorv and third was Dimitar Christov and Paraskevi Mavridou took the second place from Masa Jankovic in ladies and first remained Denitsa Valcheva.

Most of the skiers who have taken part in Pamporovo FIS Cup before, explained that the conditions of the ski facilities as well as the organization in general this year was more than perfect. The race also attended Andreas Pandelidis - Greece, FIS technical delegate. He stated "I'm really impressed by the whole organisation. The place is unique and maybe one of the best in Europe for slalom." His report on the race is very important because his assessment may affect the future of the resort to host races of high rank. Ski track "The Wall" is the only homologated in the resort. To attract more ski athletes for next Ski FIS Cup, Pamporovo AD prepared to provide money prize for its winners. They will also want the race to be moved earlier in the end of February or beginning of March.
